STAAR® EVO VISIAN® ICL PROCEDURE
STAAR® EVO – Evolution in Visual Freedom – is a breakthrough, FDA approved Implantable Collamer Lens procedure for myopia and astigmatism designed to provide premium refractive outcomes while optimizing patient comfort. Made from Collamer® – a biocompatible material that works in harmony with the eye – EVO can treat a wide range of refractive errors.
Patients who want a flexible and biocompatible vision correction option, as well as many patients who are not candidates for laser vision correction, find that Visian EVO ICL is the right procedure for them. In a survey, 99.4% of EVO patients have stated they would have the procedure again. See how STAAR EVO changed the life of Joe Jonas.
The lens, which is slightly smaller than a typical contact lens, is implanted in the eye during a twenty to thirty minute procedure.
Unlike laser vision correction surgeries that permanently change the shape of the cornea, the EVO Visian ICL procedure is additive, meaning that no corneal tissue is removed. The EVO lens has a small hole in its center allowing the flow of fluid to the front of the eye, therefore preventing dry eye syndrome. Worldwide, more than one million EVO Visian lenses have been implanted.
